In vivo assessment of meatiness and fattiness of Charollais ram-lambs
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The results was gained with a set of total 83 Charollais ram-lambs. The examined characteristics of carcass quality were adjusted according to effect of flock and year (jointed), litter size, age and live weight at slaughter. The effect of live weight had the highest impact on observed carcass quality traits UMLTLA and CMLTLA showed the similar residual correlation coefficient to other characteristics of carcass quality measured after slaughter. UMLTLA was even closely correlated to the percentage of mntage of meat in leg (rrp=0,451; P<0.001) than CMLTLA (rrp=0,407; P<0.001). Residual phenotypic correlation coefficient between UMLTLA and CMLTLA was (rrp=0,687 (P<0.001). The percentage of legs in carcass did not show any significant correlations to other carcass quality traits. Ultrasonically measured back fat thickness was slightly correlated with subjective classification of carcass fattiness.(rrp=0,312; P<0.01) and moderately correlated with percentage of kidney fat in carcass (rrp=0
