Genotypic and phenotypic characterization of probiotic properties of Lactic Acid Bacteria isolated from gastrointestinal tract of Wild Boars
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Methods of intensive farming negatively affect health condition and welfare of pigs, especially post-weaned piglets. Post-weaned piglets are highly susceptible to gastrointestinal diseases manifested by diarrhea. Diarrhea is managed mainly by antibiotic therapy, but usage of antibiotics is controlled by European Union legislative, due to increasing of antibiotic resistance. For this reason, new alternatives to usage antibiotic are considered. One of the suitable alternative is using of probiotics in post-weaned piglets. One of the suitable source of probiotic bacteria for domestic pigs is gut microbiota of wild boars. The fifteen strains of Limosilactobacillus mucosae were isolated from gastrointestinal tract of wild boars and characterized in term of probiotic properties. It was performed comparative genomic analysis to construct phylogenetic tree and compare similarities between genomes of fifteen isolated strains and 49 genomes of Limosilactobacillus mucosae strains retrieved from NCBI database. In all fifteen strains were determined antibiotic susceptibility assay and blood hemolysis assay. Also presence of genes of resistance was observed in genomes. All strains were proven as safe, with no presence of genes of resistance and hemolyzin production. According to genomic analysis of the strains, some of them carried genes encoding eneterolyzin A, various adhezin-like factors and many glycoside hydrolases. Presence of glycoside hydrolases were also confirmed phenotypically by Rapid ID testing on five selected strains
