Popis výsledku v původním jazyce

The organic markets have rapidly been developing in most of the developed countries. The paper aims to compare the contemporary situation on markets with selected organic products in the Czech Republic as well as in selected European countries. The attention is paid especially to the share of organic products´ consumption on the total food expenditures. The paper presents selected results of research project QF 3278 focused on the objectification of supply and demand development for organic products. There are great differences among these countries: not only in the share of organic products on total food products and in the structure of organic products, but also in sales conditions and in types of prevailing distribution channels. In the Czech Republic, main obstacles for organic market development are especially not very well developed distribution channels and low transparency of organic market. Low consciousness about organic agriculture and its quality production is carried over.
