Pressed glass from east Moravian glassworks in the late 19th and first of the 20th century
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The production of pressed glass in Eastern Moravia has been represented by S. Reich & Co. since 1873. It took place in the Mariánská huť glassworks in Velké Karlovice - Léskové and since 1930 in Valašské Meziříčí - Krásno. Initially, the company followed the production of other manufacturers, from the 90s of the 19th century, the glassworks created its own designs, which were imitated by other glassworks despite the trademarks. The artistically not very progressive production was enriched especially in the 1930s by several sets and solitary pieces designed by both external designers and artists employed in the Czech-Moravian Glassworks - Jindřich Mach and Jaroslav Antonín Junk. Since the 1940s, the production range of household pressed glass has practically not changed. Production on a manual lever press was completed by 1952. The production of one of the largest glass companies of the former Austria-Hungary is processed on the basis of an analysis of offer catalogs, drawing books, designs, as well as the surviving artifacts themselves.
