Deliverable D7: Best Practice Guide for the characterization of stray radiation outside the UHPDR primary particle beam
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The aim of this document is to provide recommendations and guidelines for the charac-terization of stray radiation outside the UHPDR primary proton and electron beams with se-lected active and passive detectors. The document is the result of the work in work package 4 (WP4) of the project entitled "Metrology for advanced radiotherapy using particle beams with ultra-high pulse dose rates" (UHDpulse) funded by the European Metrology Program for Inno-vation and Research (EMPIR) and it is based on numerous reports and articles published by the involved project partners. The WP4 aimed to develop traceable and validated methods for characterisation of stray radiation outside the UHPDR primary particle beam. Such mixed ra-diation fields are composed by radiation of different types and cause parasitic doses to healthy tissue and critical organs outside the target volumes. This unwanted dose is crucial for the optimization of the therapy in view of a personalized dose management.
