In diesem Sammelbandbeitrag wird auf die Frage eingegangen, wie der monumentale Malhügel für Friedrich Ludwig Jahn bei Cheb die Weltanschauung des Deutschen Turnerbundes (DTB), der hinter der Erbauung stand, widerspiegelte. DTB entstand im Jahre 1889 undseine heterogene Weltanschauung wurde erst Im Jahre 1908 in dem offiziellen Motto "Rassenreinheit - Volkseinheit - Geistesfreiheit" zusammengefasst. In dem Ort und der Zeit der Erbauung sowie in der Form des Jahnmalhügels lassen sich diese weltanschaulichen Grundsätze sehr gut ablesen. Als Ort wurde die westböhmische Stadt Cheb auserwählt, die als Mittelpunkt des ersehnten Alldeutschlands gesehen wurde. Fertiggestellt wurde der Bau im Jahre 1913, dem Jubiläumsjahr der sogenannten "Befreiungskriege". Dadurch bekannte sich der DTB bewusst zu diesem nationalen Mythos. This paper respons the questions how the large monument for Friedrich Ludwig Jahn nearby Cheb reflected the "Weltanschauung" of the German Gymnastic Association (Deutscher Turnerbund, DTB). DTB arose 1889 and his motto from 1908 - "purity of race - unityof nation - freedom of spirit" - sums up its heterogen "Weltanschauung". The place and the time of the building of the "Jahnmalhügel" and its form as well reflected these basic principles. The west-Bohemian town Cheb was chosen as place of the buildingbecause it was seen as the middle of the desired "Alldeutschland". The construction was finished in 1913, i.e. the anniversary-year of the so-called "Befreiungskriege". So the DTB deliberetly supported this national myth. The first plan for the monumentwas created by Franz Xaver Kießling who wished to build a copy of an assumed Germanic tomb. Finally, the plan of Friedrich Rudolf Zenker was chosen.
