En el presente trabajo indagaremos en la posible diferencia de uso entre el presente simple del indicativo y la forma presente de la perífrasis verbal {ESTAR + -NDO}. A tal propósito analizaremos su distribución en diferentes enunciados por medio de los principios de la gramática enunciativa o metaoperacional (Adamczewski 1978, 1982, 1996). Las muestras de lengua de las que nos serviremos estarán constituidas por enunciados insertados en su contexto discursivo, a fin de poder apreciar adecuadamente el rol que va a cubrir cada forma en el intercambio comunicativo. Nuestro objetivo será la confirmación de un valor operativo único para cada forma, más allá de los distintos efectos discursivos que puedan producir.

The present article deals with the possible difference in use between the simple present tense and the present form of the {ESTAR + -NDO} verbal periphrasis in Spanish. For this purpose, their distribution in different utterances will be analyzed with the help of the principles of metaoperational grammar (Adamczewski 1978, 1982, 1996). The language samples used will consist in utterances inserted into their discursive context, in order to properly appreciate the role each form will play in the communicative exchange. Our goal is the confirmation of a single operating value for each form, besides the different discursive meaning effects they might generate.
