L'étude de la réception sénéquienne dans le théâtre jésuite de la province tchèque essaie de remplir au moins en partie la lacune dans la recherche sur le dramaturge romain dans les pays tchèques. Après une introduction consacrée a la position de Sénèque dans le contexte tchèque, l'attention est portée a la réception de ses tragédies dans le théâtre européen et a ses diverses formes. Certains de ces aspects sont montrés aussi dans la partie principale basée sur le dramaturge jésuite Arnoldus Engel et son travail avec Sénèque en tant que modèle. Les passages comparés sont tirés de la Médée de Sénèque et la pièce d'Engel sur Sainte Catherine - Costis sive Catharis Partheno-Martyr Alexandrina. L'évidence de l'inspiration sénéquienne est encore soutenue par des commentaires de l'auteur provenants du manuscrit utilisé où Engel revendique Sénèque comme son maître et modèle.

The study of the Senecan reception in the Jesuit theatre of the Czech Province aims to fill in at least partially the gap in the field of research on the Roman playwright in the Czech area. After an introduction dedicated to Seneca's position in the Czech culture, the attention is paid to the reception of his tragedies in the European theatre and its particular figures. Some of these aspects show up also in the main part focused on the jesuit playwright Arnoldus Engel and his work with Seneca as his model. The compared passages are taken from Seneca's Medea and Engel's play about Saint Catherine - Costis sive Catharis Partheno-Martyr Alexandrina. The flagrancy of the Senecan inspiration is only underlined by author's comments from the used manuscript of Engel's plays where he indicates himself Seneca as his master and model.
