Digital Studies of Culture in Central Europe: Introduction to the Thematic Section
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The idea for this issue of the journal, as well as the earlier project Mapping and Boosting Digital Humanities in the Visegrad Region (led by the NGO Centre of the Study of Popular Culture), stemmed from reflections on the growing dependence of the humanities on digital resources and research methods. We aimed to gather the best practices in the use of digital methods in the four Visegrad Group countries and Austria in one place, and present them in a public database, which also serves as a tool for mapping the state of digital humanities in the region. The database is published on a dedicated website together with recordings of talks presenting selected relevant projects: https://digihum.cspk.eu/ . Thus, this issue of Colloquia Humanistica can be called the culmination of both the Mapping and Boosting Digital Humanities in the Visegrad Region project and our experiences in the digital humanities.
