Der Artikel befasst sich mit der Frage, wie das Ende des Zweiten Weltkriegs und insbesondere die Präsenz der US-Truppen im süd-westlichen Böhmen im Jahre 1945 in der kommunistischen Tschechoslowakei dargestellt wurden. Er konzentriert sich auf die Auffassungen nicht nur innerhalb der offiziellen tschechischen Historiographie, sondern auch der im Samizdat publizierenden Autoren. Außerdem beschreibt er die Aktionen der tschechischen Dissidenten zum Gedenken an die US-Opfer der Bedreiung 1945 in der Tschechoslowakei der 70er und 80er Jahre.

The article focuses on the question how the End of the WWII and especially on the presence of the US-Army in South-Western Bohemia 1945 have been dealt in the Czechoslovakia in the Communist era. It charakterizes the approach not only of the official Czech historiography but also of the independent Czech authors that have published in the Samizdat. In addition it describes the actions of the Czech dissidents that have commemorated the US-victims of the Liberation 1945 in the Czechoslovakia in the 70s and 80s.
