After Kant: What do Art and Literature owe to Kant?
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
On the occasion of the 300th anniversary of Kant's birth in 2024, we want to pay attention to his influence on subsequent thinking about beauty and art, and thus discuss his impact on subsequent philosophy of art and aesthetics. From the thinkers and creators of the Romantic tradition (e.g. Schleiermacher, Novalis, Schlegel) and Idealism (e.g. Hölderlin, Schelling, Hegel), to the post-Hegelian philosophers (e.g. Schopenhauer, Kierkegaard, Nietzsche), to the 20th century authors of various traditions of thought and positions. We expect contributions that are clearly based on Kant's philosophy, whether theoretical or practical, on his anthropology or political philosophy, and refer to Kant either positively, in that they only apply or further develop his ideas, or, on the contrary, critically and polemically. We are really open to the widest possible range of approaches and authorial positions from which we aim retrospectively to show Kant's great influence and impact, which we want to celebrate. Contributions need not be exclusively concerned with Kant's legacy in the field of philosophy, but may discuss Kant's impulses and echoes in works of literature, art, film and graphics.
