This study was commissioned by the TomLantos Institute. The aim of the study is toexplore the extent, scope and prevalenceof antisemitic prejudice in the four postcommunist countries of Central and EasternEurope known as the Visegrád Four: the CzechRepublic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia.Furthermore, it explores how antisemitismis related to various socio-demographic andattitudinal factors in order to understandwhat causes antisemitic prejudice andidentify which social groups are prone to suchprejudice. In addition, regional specificities,including victim consciousness, historicalperceptions of Holocaust bystandership andtheir relationship to antisemitic prejudice arealso examined.
