The paper deals with selected phenomena occurring in Czech mathematics textbooks, and their possible influence on the formation of students&apos; misconceptions in the field of planimetry. The analysis of textbooks was elaborated as part of long-term research into Czech pupils&apos; and students&apos; conceptual knowledge in geometry. We have found that the design of the textbooks is the possible cause of some students&apos; misconceptions. However, in our opinion, the mathematics teacher, who is well acquainted with the risks, has the tools to eliminate these misconceptions
