Cultural Sustainability and Social Inclusion: A Case Study of Contemporary Art Museums in Hungary
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
This article examines the role of contemporary art museums in Hungary in promoting cultural sustainability and social inclusion. Through a case study approach, it explores how these institutions engage with diverse social groups and contribute to the preservation and development of cultural heritage in a rapidly changing socio-political environment. The study investigates the strategies employed by Hungarian museums to make art more accessible, foster inclusive dialogue, and create platforms for marginalized communities. Additionally, it analyzes the challenges museums face in balancing the preservation of artistic traditions with the need for innovation and public engagement. Drawing on interviews with museum curators, educators, and community leaders, as well as an analysis of museum programming and exhibitions, the article highlights how contemporary art museums can serve as catalysts for social change by promoting intercultural understanding and facilitating active public participation. Ultimately, it argues that cultural sustainability and social inclusion are essential for the long-term vitality of both the museum sector and society as a whole.
