The chapter provides comprehensive information on the current situation of pre-school education and the provision of institutional early childhood care facilities in the Czech Republic. It provides a detailed overview of the legal and curricular framework, statistical data and a description of developments and current issues in the field of ECEC. It has been developed using a standardised methodology as the parallel chapters in the monograph for the other 32 European countries. The chapter is based on a content analysis of documents (legislative documents, strategic documents and policy strategies, statistical data on education, research reports).
