The development of baroreflex sensitivity at the age between 11 and 21 years
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The aim of the study was to evaluate the development of baroreflex sensitivity and to determine its physiological limits in young population. We found that BRS (ms/mmHg) was age-independent in particular age subgroups, but it correlated with the mean inter-beat intervals (IBI). However multiple regression analysis showed that BRS was also age-dependent, but this relationship was overlaid by the IBI prolongation with age. On the other hand, baroreflex sensitivity (BRSf) expressed in mHz/mmHg decline withage and seemed to be more sensitive on baroreflex sensitivity development in case of changes of the mean IBI. The limits of BRS showed that the value of 5th percentile of healthy young subjects was under the value of BRS linked with hypertension in adults.
