Experienced problems and coping with them in adolescence

The study aims to identify the relationship between the structure and intensity of experienced problems, and the style of coping with them in the population of early adolescents. The study aims at the stability and change both in the problems and in thestrategies of coping in ages 13 to 15, in the age of supposed transmission from early adolescence. The third part of our study relates the problems and coping with wider context of social functioning, e.g. social position of the adolescents, risk behavior or differences in coping across important life contexts. Study uses questionnaire for the identification of problems and coping in three different life contexts (family, school, peers), a sociometric rating method, questionnaire for the identificationof risk behaviour, and personality questionnaire (e.g. NEO). Data were collected as a part of the ELSPAC study in the Czech Republic in two waves (at age 13 and 15), N = 453. Problem and coping data were factor analysed, scales tested for
