The experience of flow: differences between surfing on Facebook and doing sports
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The aim of the given work is to describe similarities and differences between Facebook use and active participation in sports from the point of view of the flow theory. The research included 214 respondents (109 women), whose average age was 22.53 (sd =3.00, md = 22). We used a flow multidimensional questionnaire (Flow State Scale ? 2) that assesses nine dimensions of flow on the five-point Likert scale. When surfing on Facebook, the respondents were asked about the average length of Facebook use per week and about their attitude toward this social network. Probably the most interesting finding is the fact that, contrary to prior expectations, there is a negative relationship between the flow phenomenon and time spent on Facebook.
