El objetivo de la contribución ha sido rastrear los patrones lexicogenéticos del léxico de las clases urbanas en el México de comienzos del siglo XIX y del argot de la delincuencia de la época. Los textos literarios son bastante problemáticos a la hora de servir como fuente para la historia del léxico. Por tanto, otro objetivo de la contribución ha sido ensayar un método de lectura y filtración de unidades léxicas adecuadas para el análisis.

The aim of the paper was to look for the word formation models of the the vocabulary of the underclass in urban Mexican Spanish during the beginnings of the 19th century and of the urban criminal slang. As fiction is a rather problematic source for the history of vocabulary, the other aim of the contribution was to suggest a method of reading and selecting of lexical units that would be adequate for the analysis.
