Cet article se concentre sur les représentations architecturales dans un groupe de manuscrits de l'Histoire ancienne jusqu'à César copiés et illustrés à Gênes entre 1280 et 1320. Les villes anciennes représentées dans ces codex reflètent les caractéristiques des principaux monuments civiques de Gênes, dont la particularité est la présence de spolia romains et de l'Antiquité tardive. Ces pratiques de réutilisation ne résultent pas de simples préoccupations esthétiques, mais sont des stratégies soigneusement calibrées, inscrites dans le projet de construction d'une mythographie génoise, et donc dans la tentative de donner à la ville une dimension historique et politique particulière. L'objectif de cet article est de décrire la participation des manuscrits de l'Histoire ancienne à la construction de l'identité génoise à travers l'invention d'une mémoire civique collective remontant à l'Antiquité.

This article focuses on the architectural representations within a group of manuscripts of the Histoire ancienne jusqu’à César copied and illustrated in Genoa between 1280 and 1320. Ancient cities depicted in these codices reflect the characteristics of Genoa’s main civic monuments, whose distinctive feature is the presence of Roman and late antique spolia. These reuse practices are not resulting from simple aesthetic concerns, but are carefully calibrated strategies, inscribed in the project of constructing a Genoese mythography, and therefore in the attempt to give the city a particular historical and political dimension. The aim of this article is to describe the participation of the manuscripts of Histoire ancienne in the construction of Genoese identity through the invention of a collective civic memory going back to antiquity.
