Is the enantioselectivity of microbial degradation of chiral compounds in soils influenced by the soil physicochemical properties and microbial parameters?
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Soil samples were analyzed for enantiomeric fractions of PCB 95, 132, 149, and 174, alpha-HCH, o,p-DDD, and o,p-DDT using two-dimensional gas chromatography, and deviation from racemic mixture was used as a measure of enantioselective microbial activityindependently on direction of shift. Soil physicochemical properties and microbiological parameters were determined at the same time and their correlation with the enantioselectivity of microbial degradation was studied. Relationships were analyzed usingmultidimensional statistical analysis (principal component analysis) for 12 soils. Correlations between deviations from racemic mixture and first principal component representing organic carbon content, fulvic and humic acid content, total nitrogen amount, and basal respiration) was found. Correlation between enantiomeric fractions and the individual soil characteristics was, however, not found.
