Die europäischen Integrationsprozesse werden in der Tschechischen Republik ambivalent beurteilt. An Hand von Darstellung der Ergebnisse einer vergleichenden Forschung History to Youth versuchen wir deutlich zu machen, wie die tschechischen Mittelschülerzu dieser Problematik stehen. Ferner wurde näher untersucht, wie sich die europäische Dimension im tschechischen Curriculum etabliert hat (Curriculumanalyse und Lehrbuchanalyse), und welche Konsequenzen sie für die Schule bringt. Im Anschluss wird auf die europäische Dimension in der LehrerInnenbildung fokusiert. Zusammenfassend wird auf die Frage näher gegangen, was für die Europäische Dimension in Bildung getan werden kann.

This chapter focuses on the issue of European dimension in education which, among others, represents an area of study of the field of comparative pedagogy. The European dimension is at present understood as one of the qualities of modern education in Europe. In this paper it is attempted to indicate an answer to the question what is to be understood under the notion of European dimension in education. Further it is demonstrated that the idea of European dimension is put into effect by a number of practical activities and programmes regarding exchanges of students and teachers, school partnerships, foreign language learning etc. The key moment seems to be the relationship between the European dimension and the content of school education; establishing of European topics into school curricula. The European dimension thus becomes a commission for teachers, introduction of which may face a number of problems.
