Theory of the financial analysis of the commercial insurance companies is just at the beginning of its development and at the moment is quite difficult to find some detailed information about that problems in professional bibliography. However, continualdevelopment of the insurance market emphasize the importance and necessity of paying more attention to this issue. The scope of the paper is therefore to consider the specifics resulting from the nature of the business activities of the commercial insurance companies and to present an overview of the financial analysis methods of the insurance companies.
