Der Beitrag beschreibt die sowohl historisch wichtige Rolle des Deutschen auf dem Gebiet von Böhmen, Mähren und Schlesien, wo es lange Jahre lingua franca bedeutete, obwohl das hunderte Jahre dauerte Zusammenleben mit Deutschen nicht immer konfliktlos war als auch den jetzigen Zustand des Deutschen aus der Sicht der Unterrichtssprache an Schulen aller Stufen sowie in der beruflichen Kommunikation. Anschließend widmet sich der Text den individuellen Anregungen des Autors für Deutsch. Es stellten vor allem der deutsche Fußball der 70er Jahre sowie die Winnetou-Filme dar, ferner auch einige Kinderbücher wie z.B. das protestantische Pendant Daniel Defoes „Der schweizerische Robinson“ von David Wyss. Der Text analysiert auch kurz die mangelhafte Popularität des Deutschen gegenüber dem Englischen zum Beispiel aufgrund von Hollywoodfilmen, obwohl in Mittel- und Osteuropa aus wirtschaftlichen, geographischen, historischen sowie touristischen Gründen Deutsch immerhin seine feste Position hat.

The article describes both the historically important role of Germans in the area of Bohemia, Moravia and Silesia, where for many years it meant lingua franca, although the hundreds of years of living together with Germans was not always without conflict as well as the current state of German from the point of view the language of instruction in schools of all levels and in vocational communication. Subsequently, the text is dedicated to the individual suggestions of the author for German. It was mainly the German football of the 70s as well as the Winnetou films, also some children's books such the Protestant counterpart Daniel Defoe's "The Swiss Robinson" by David Wyss. The text also briefly analyzes German's lack of popularity vis-à-vis English, for example due to Hollywood films, although in Central and Eastern Europe, for economic, geographic, historical and tourism reasons, German still has a strong position.
