In diesem Artikel vergleiche und kontrastiere ich Nietzsches Sichtweise der Liebe, die er meiner Meinung nach in ihren Grundzügen auch Platon und Spinoza zuschreibt, mit der christlichen Sichtweise der Liebe, die Nietzsche, wie ich hier behaupte, als sein Hauptziel ansieht. Ich konzentriere mich in erster Linie auf Nietzsches Behandlung der Liebe in Jenseits von Gut und Böse und befasse mich außerdem eingehend mit einer wichtigen Passage aus Götzen-Dämmerung, in der Platon mit Spinoza und das antike Griechenland mit dem modernen Frankreich in Bezug auf die Themen Liebe und Philosophie gegenübergestellt werden.

In this article I compare and contrast Nietzsche’s view of love, which I argue he also ascribes, in its broadest outlines, to Plato and Spinoza, with the Christian view of love, regarded by Nietzsche, i contend here, as his major target. i focus primarily on Nietzsche’s treatment of love in Beyond Good and Evil and also engage in a detailed reading of an important passage in Twilight of the Idols that contrasts Plato with Spinoza and ancient Greece with modern France with respect to the issues of love and philosophy.
