The workshop was organized as part of the AKTION Czech-Austrian cooperation project (no. 96p11) and focused on the transfer of knowledge and skills related to malnutrition assessment and the assessment of taste and smell. As a result, the procedure for data collection within the AKTION project was standardized. The workshop was held in the Pardubice Czech Republic (CR) for Austrian project members (AT) and other academic and scientific personnel from CR, as well as for Czech students. During the workshop, knowledge about the TASENS taste assessment method was shared in detail, followed by practical training. Additionally, Austrian experts shared their extensive knowledge of nutritional assessment with members of the CR team and academic/scientific staff. Both workshop topics were followed by mutual discussion, leading to the clarity and standardization of the taste and nutrition assessment procedure for all project participants before the commencement of data collection.
