Wooden religious buildings are often the masterpieces of local rural architecture. Churches and chapels can be found in the Central and Eastern European countries - in Poland [1], Slovakia, Czech Republic, and Ukraine. In the Czech Republic, most of themare located in the northeast of Moravia and in Silesia. Out of the 366 probably existing Moravian-Silesian churches and chapels, 31 wooden churches have been preserved. Their number, however, is slowly decreasing. Institutes of technical universities inBrno, Warsaw, Bratislava, Krakow and Kharkiv were integrated within the European project [2] Culture 2000: "Rescuing the hidden European wooden church heritage" supported by Fondazione del Bianco in Florence.
