Construction industry serves as an indicator of the overall condition of the economy because other branches are connected to it. It is mutually interconnected with the real estate market. The aim of this article is to analyse the development of the construction industry and the real estate market in the area of the Czech Republic and describe their mutual functioning. The source of supply in the construction industry is house building which is connected to many indicators as can be the number of housesunder construction based on the number of issued building permits, number of flats in various stages of their construction and number of flats already finished which obtained the final building approval. On the basis of the data taken from the graphs byCzech Statistical Office, the study of these figures will be carried out.
