Load transfer in horizontally prestressed masonry wall
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Brick structures that are predominantly distorted by horizontal displacements (i.e. by changing the soil moisture) are often rehabilitated and stabilised by a horizontally arranged system of tension cables and strands. Cables and strands (i.e. levels) are usually designed at several levels of height, creating horizon-tally prestressed strips of masonry. The height of the prestressed masonry belt is based primarily on the load-bearing angle. At present, the design of a horizontally structured system of tension strands is intui-tive, based on previous experience of similar constructions. Validation of force and load distribution is complicated and, in many cases, impossible even when relevant computer technology is used. This step-by-step report describes the preparatory work involved prior to the measurement of the load angle in real tests of the brick wall, including the pre-evaluated results of the first measurements.
