The general technical information regarding the small-scale production modernisation is presented in this article. The model situation is the CNC technology utilisation in a mid-sized engineering company. The article is focused on the rationalization ofthe large parts machining using the carousel lathe. The solution introduced in this article identifies the optimal cutting conditions and also deals with a workpiece imbalance-caused difficult cutting conditions.
