Automatic Head Position Monitoring for Optimal Recovery after Vitrectomy
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The system of automatic head position monitoring is designed for patient monitoring after an ophthalmologic surgery procedure called vitrectomy. The expansive gas bubble (SF6 or C3F8) or oil bubble is injected into operated eye to push on recovering parts. Correct position of the head during postoperative period is therefore important. Patient must keep his or her head in a defined position for several days or even weeks. Using traditional methods of postoperative investigation it has not been possibleto objectively distinguish between complications caused by clinical factors and those caused by long term improper head posture. Designed intelligent device makes it possible to continuously monitor the position of the patients head. In case of a wrong head posture the device can immediately announce a sound alarm. Posture monitoring is realized by digital 3D MEMS accelerometer. Digital signal processing is used for noise suppression, tilt angle calculation and for calibrating the sensor
