An insight into horizontal gene transfer in Bacteroidetes spp. using in-silico analysisof operon structures
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Overuse of antibiotics in human medicine and agriculture has led to the emergence of multi-resistant bacteria, mainly pathogens. In multi-resistant bacteria, individual genes coding for antibiotic resistance are transferred horizontally as a part of operon. Therefore, in order to identify horizontally transferred genes, the prediction of operon units has to be assesses in sequenced genomes. This study is focused on the identifying of genes that are associated with antibiotic resistance as well as accompanied genes simultaneously present in the same operon units. A total of 5 genes were examined in 5 draft genomes Bacteroides spp., that were previously extracted from the chicken fecal and cecal samples and sequenced.
