ASSESSMENT OF SOME MODERN EXTRACTION TECHNIQUES SUITABLE FOR DETERMINATION OF DEGRADABLE POLYMERS AND SELECTED XENOBIOTICS
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Two modern extraction techniques - the focused microwave-assisted extraction (FMAE) and the accelerated solvent extraction (ASE) - were compared to a classic ultrasonic extraction. Different groups of environmental pollutants were used as model compounds: acrylamide and some representatives of persistent organic pollutants (POPs) including polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), organochlorine pesticides (OCPs), and polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs). The methods were applied both to some spiked samplesof soils and to selected certified reference materials (sewage sludge, freshwater harbour sediment, etc.) for a quality assurance. Quantification of the target compounds was performed by either HPLC (for acrylamide and PAHs) or by GC/ECD (for organochlorines). The results demonstrated that these new and more sophisticated extraction techniques are comparable to conventional methods as for the compound recoveries; however, they are less time- and solvent-consuming. In general, the ASE tec
