    This work was focused on preparation and characterization of PHB nanofibers containing some biologically active components, mainly lipid extracts of selected plant species. Prepared and functionalized PHB nanofibers with plant extracts were tested for their potential antimicrobial and antioxidant effects. PHB nanofibers were prepared via different techniques but mainly electro-spinning technique was used. The nanofibers morphology was confirmed by SEM. FLIM and FTIR-ATR methods were used for detailed fiber characterization. Determination of antioxidant activity and content of phenolics components in the fibers nanostructure was performed by spectrophotometry. A release of active substances from fiber structure in different conditions was monitored too. The antibacterial activity of the fibrous materials against selected strains of Gram negative and Gram positive bacteria was tested. Antifungal activity of PHB fibers was monitored too.
