This chapter examines how artificial intelligence (AI) and the need for new competencies are transforming university education, focusing on instructional design, newskilling, and curriculum innovation. AI facilitates personalized learning experiences, promotes critical thinking, and enhances engagement with educational content. However, this shift necessitates that educators adapt by embracing newskilling and incorporating ethical considerations into their teaching practices. The findings suggest that AI has the capacity to revolutionize higher education by equipping learners with future-ready skills while maintaining a strong emphasis on preserving humanistic values such as empathy and meaningful interpersonal connections in education.
