The effect of rain cover on the degradation of pesticides in sweet cherry orchards
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The basic purpose of using covered systems is to eliminate fruit cracking caused by rain. Another use of overlay systems is the prevention of spring frost damage, bird strike damage and the reduction of pathogens. The cultivation of sweet cherries with the use of covering systems achieves a higher market quality of fruits, characterized in particular by higher fruit weight, lower incidence of cracks and fruit rot. The influence of plastic covers of planting (system VOEN) on the degradation of pesticide residues in sweet cherries were evaluated in two different growing system: plantings with a rain cover system and uncovered planting. On cultivar ‘Regina’ totally 14 active pesticide compound (acetamiprid, azadirachtin, cyantraniliprole, cyprodinil, dithianon, fenhexamid, fenpyrazamine, fludioxonil, fluopyram, pirimicarb, spinosad, spirotetramate, tebuconazole, and trifloxystrobin) were analysed 5, 12, 19 and 25 days after application of pesticides. It was used multiresidue method for the analysis of a broad range of 237 pesticides using ultra-performance liquid chromatography (UHPLC) coupled to MS/MS combined with an efficient QuEChERS extraction method for sweet cherries. The method was fully validated using apple purée, as stated by SANTE guidelines (SANTE/11312/2021). Recoveries of the applicated compounds tested were in the 70–120% range and were characterised by precision lower than 20%. The high sensitivity of the method allowed the successful determination of the of compounds at the level of lower than 0.010 mg/kg. The validation and PTs results (Fapas) show the applicability of this method in the routine analysis. Dynamic of the active substances degradation was approximately at the same level in both evaluated plantings. However, it was observed that the initial content of 10 pesticides was higher in samples taken 5 days after application in plantings without covering system and 5 pesticides was higher in samples taken 5 days after application in plantings with covering system. However, the covering system of sweet cherry orchard does not affect the dynamics of pesticide degradation. Covering system does not slow the degradation of pesticide active substances registered for applications in sweet cherry plantations.
