Dynamic characteristic of the hydraulic and mechanical solution for any Pelton turbine depends on a lot of various effects. The paper presents basic steps of the hydraulic design of the horizontal three nozzles Pelton turbine as well as an analysis of the bucket excitation in dependence on the pitch angle of the nozzles. The numerical modelling of the energy transfer from the jet to the runner was simulated based on application of Euler turbine equation. The evaluation of the numerical flow simulation was applied for the determination of following nozzles pitch angle. The basic condition applied for the solution is that the water, which flows from the previous nozzle, has not any significant contact with the water flowing from the following nozzle. Inthat way the optimised pitch angle between following buckets has been determined. A static pressure distribution over the turbine bucket by numerical simulation has been carried out.
