The report deals with the analysis of the causes of internal defects detected in three 50l cylinders for carbon dioxide exhausters produced by Vítkovice Cylinders, a. s. The leakage during filling was detected in the first cylinder, the second represents another one of the same batch, and the last was returned back to the producer due to the potential base defect revealed during cylinder revalve. Cracks, most probably having origin in stress corrosion cracking, developed from the original corrosion pits and these cracks were the reason for leakage detected during filling of the cylinder.
