Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
According to World Bank data, the volume of international trade in 2008 accounted for 59.4% of the world GDP, reaching one o the highest values in history before the global economic crisis of 2008. According to the latest estimates, 2019 was a similarly successful year, and international trade would account for around 60% of the world GDP, despite increasing trade tensions. After the 2008 economic crisis, the share of international trade to world GDP declined rapidly by 8.5 percentage points in one year (from 60.9% to 52.4%). This meant an absolute decline in trade of 13 per cent. A similar and even more dramatic situation is expected in the post-Covid-19 period. The economy has come to a standstill, which will have a strong overall impact. According to the WTO, the pandemic could cause a loss of between 13% and 32% in international trade volumes. Everything will depend on the duration and control of the pandemic, as well as on the fiscal, monetary and trade measures adopted by governments.
