Nationalism and Xenophobia in the Political Communication of Far Right in Czechia and Slovakia: A Case Study of Freedom and Direct Democracy and People's Party Our Slovakia
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The chapter is devoted to a comparative analysis of political communication of the ĽSNS in Slovakia and SPD in the Czech Republic in the context of the parliamentary elections in 2016 and 2020 in Slovakia and in 2017 in the Czech Republic through the following research questions: What is the main ideology of the parties being studied? And to which current or direction of the far right do these parties belong? The analysis draws on the political and electoral manifestos of the parties, and the research includes only the official election manifestos presented before the relevant parliamentary elections. The study is also based on data provided in party media or in political statements. Other sources of data include party analyses, interviews in the media, conclusions from conferences, submitted draft acts, blogs, speeches by party members in front of deputies, and their communication on social networks and in the media. In all cases, the analysis focuses mainly on the results of the political and communication activities of the parties under study before the relevant parliamentary elections, i.e. from 2015 in Slovakia and from 2017 in the Czech Republic, to the present.
