2D CFD simulations on specimens’ holder of the COLONRI II loop
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
This work has been done in the frame of the AVOCADO project and aims to study the lead flow velocity distribution into the test section of the natural circulation lead loop COLONRI II. This is a test facility designed to perform experiments with HLM for nuclear research and, in particular, its main application is the testing of material corrosion by liquid metals. The purpose of the AVOCADO project is to study the crack initiation on ODS materials and the effect that the liquid metal has on the phenomena. For this reason the specimens are inserted into the lead loop for 500 hours, keeping the test section at a costant temperature of 400°C. The specimens are inserted in a three-points contacts holder which both load them and influences also on the lead flow velocity on the surface, thus a two dimensional CFD analysys has been carried out with different inlet velocities. The temperature difference maintained between hot and cold legs allows the natural circulation of liquid metal at the velocity of about 2-4 cm/s, measured as the interval of a T peak between two reference thermocouples. Infact, it is not possible to install a flowmeter on the loop. This report is giving some insides on how the model was built for this analysys and the main results are reported. Report CVR-1675.
