Characterization of Genetic Diversity within Pea Germaplasm Collections: Towards a World Collection. Book of abstracts of the 5th International Food Legume Research Conference (IFLRC) & 7th European Conference on Grain Legumes (AEP), Turkey
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Several large germplasm collections of the Pisum genus, the third most important grain legume, are maintained world-wide. To facilitate management and increase efficiency of use, a core collections were developed using traditional morphological descriptors and molecular marker approaches, including microsatellite SSR and retrotransposone-based markers. To allow direct data comparison, we performed additional analysis of the ATFCC core set, by using a common set of retrotransposone markers. Model-based Bayesian analysis of the population structure revealed clear distinction of numerous accessions of Chinese origin, as previously shown with multiallelic SSR markers, indicating a potentially novel gene-pool, useful for future trait screening and diversifying of breeding programs.
