Educational Preferences of Generation Z University Students: A Case Study from Central Europe
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Generation Z now constitutes the majority of university students. To ensure effective education, academic institutions should therefore adapt their approaches to meet the specific requirements of this generation of students. The importance of understanding the educational needs of Generation Z is underlined by several compelling reasons. First, for teaching to be truly effective, it must align with the preferences and learning styles of the target group. Second, higher education institutions compete to attract talented students; so, it is essential to offer innovative and engaging curricula based on modern teaching methods. Finally, one of the goals of higher education is to prepare students for the labor market; therefore, university lecturers should be equipped to impart knowledge in a way that is both effective and relevant to current professional requirements. The research aims to analyze the teaching methods that best suit Generation Z university students based on a questionnaire survey of 800 Central European university students. The research focuses both on whether the preferred teaching methods are dependent on the study program and whether they change during the duration of the study. The research also examines what factors increase the concentration of Generation Z students at most and whether the teaching methods used are in line with those preferred by Generation Z.
