Factors Influencing Infrastructure and Consumer Behavior in the Field of Electric Vehicle Charging
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
This article presents the results of a quantitative survey of 1,000 Czech consumers, aimed at identifying the key barriers to the adoption of electric vehicles and public expectations regarding charging infrastructure. Beyond economic and infrastructural factors, the study also highlights the important role of marketing communication in shaping consumer perceptions of electromobility. Misconceptions about battery longevity, range, safety, and charging convenience persist partly due to insufficient or unclear public communication by olicymakers and industry stakeholders. As the findings show, high purchase prices (69.1%), concerns about battery replacement (60.1%), and limited range (53.7%) remain the key deterrents, while the visibility and communication of charging infrastructure significantly influence public awareness (56%). Respondents emphasise fast charging, affordability, and widespread availability, indicating that effective marketing communication and information strategies can help reduce uncertainty and strengthen trust in electric mobility. Overall, the results suggest that accelerating EV adoption in the Czech Republic requires not only financial and infrastructural measures but also consistent, targeted, and transparent marketing communication to increase public understanding and support for sustainable transport.
