Der als Einleitung konzipierte Beitrag kontextualisiert die wissenschaftlichen Beiträge der Zeitschrift im Hinblick auf ihre Thematik - die topische Beschreibung der besonderen Interkulturalität der Böhmischen Länder bis zum Ende des Zweiten Weltkrieges. Im Mittelpunkt steht die Frage, wie sich Einheit der Literatur der Region der Böhmischen Länder (nicht der regionalen Literatur aus Böhmen) überhaupt konzeptualisieren lässt. Dabei geht es darum, die Region Böhmen nicht mehr als "einfältig", sondern viel mehr als Vielfalt zu denken, in der sich unterschiedliche Phänomene anziehen, abstoßen, immer aber in einem nachweisbaren Zusammenhang miteinander stehen. Dies wird aus unterschiedlicher Perspektive in 12 Beiträgen beleuchtet, die im Rahmen der GIG-Tagung "Vielfältige Konzepte - Konzepte der Vielfalt: Interkulturalität(en) weltweit" 2016 in Ústí nad Labem und Prag in der Sektion Böhmen/Mähren vorgetragen wurden.

The article, intended as an introduction, contextualizes the scientific contributions of the journal in relation to its subject: the topical description of the special interculturality of the Bohemian lands to the end of Second World War. The focus is on the question of how to conceptualize the unity of literature in the region of the Bohemian lands (not the regional literature from Bohemia). The aim is not to think of the Bohemian region as "simple" anymore, but much more as area of diversity, in which different phenomena attract or repel, but always have a verifiable connection with each other. This will be highlighted from different perspectives in 12 papers presented at the GIG-conference "Vielfältige Konzepte - Konzepte der Vielfalt: Interkulturalität(en) weltweit" ("Diverse Concepts - Concepts of Diversity: Interculturality/ies worldwide" 2016 in Ústí nad Labem and Prague in the section Bohemia / Moravia.
