Die vorliegende Studie bezieht sich auf die Deperdita-Frage in der königlichen böhmischen Kanzlei des Spätmittelalters und untersucht den Umfang ihrer ursprünglichen schriftlichen Produktion. Die Deperdita werden auf drei Ebenen untersucht: erstens als typologische Belege für Schriftstücke, die in der Vergangenheit mit Sicherheit in hohem Maße produziert wurden; zweitens als solche Belege, deren ursprüngliche Produktion qualifiziert werden kann; und drittens im Hinblick auf spezifisch dokumentierte Schriften, deren Existenz unzweifelhaft ist, die aber nicht bis in die Gegenwart überlebt haben. Diese Fragen werden insbesondere im Hinblick auf die Beziehungen zwischen dem böhmischen Monarchen (und möglicherweise seinen Beamten) und den böhmischen Königsstädten untersucht.

The present study refers to the Deperdita-question in the Bohemian royal chancery of the late Middle Ages, examining the extent of their original production. The Deperdita are regarded on three levels: firstly, as typological evidence of those documents that were certainly produced at high rates in the past; secondly, as evidence that can be quantified; and thirdly, on the level of particular documents, the existence of which is without doubt, but which have not been preserved up to the present day. These questions are examined using the example of the relationship between the Bohemian king (or his officials) and Bohemian royal cities.
