Die vorliegende Arbeit analysiert die Entwicklung des Motivs der schönen Ertrunkenen (Ophelia) in der deutschen Dichtung des 20. Jahrhunderts aus feministischer Perspektive. Im Laufe des Jahrhunderts wurde dieses Motiv zunächst von männlichen Autoren bearbeitet und ein stereotypes Bild von Weiblichkeit (re)konstruiert. Autorinnen hingegen interpretieren das Motiv neu und verleihen der Figur der weiblichen Wasserleiche Macht und Eigenständigkeit. Der Fokus der Studie richtet sich darauf, wie dieses mit Passivität und Idealisierung assoziierte Motiv auf gesellschaftliche Umbrüche reagiert - insbesondere nach den beiden Weltkriegen und im Kontext der Neuen Frauenbewegung der 1970er Jahre. Anhand einer feministischen Literaturanalyse werden neun repräsentative Gedichte aus verschiedenen literarischen Strömungen und Zeitepochen untersucht, um aufzuzeigen, wie Autorinnen im Motiv des Opfers subversives Potenzial entdeckt und es transformiert haben. Die Untersuchung zeigt, wie Weiblichkeit in patriarchalischen Strukturen dargestellt wird und eröffnet neue Perspektiven auf literarische Motive im Kontext von sozialen und kulturellen Veränderungen.

This thesis analyses the development of the motif of the beautiful drowned woman (Ophelia) in 20th century German poetry from a feminist perspective. Over the course of the century, this motif was initially worked on by male authors and a stereotypical image of femininity was (re)constructed. Female authors, on the other hand, reinterpreted the motif and gave the figure of the female floater power and autonomy. The focus of the study is on how this motif, associated with passivity and idealisation, reacts to social upheavals - particularly after the two world wars and in the context of the New Women&apos;s Movement of the 1970s. Using a feminist literary analysis, nine representative poems from different literary movements and eras are analysed to show how female authors discovered subversive potential in the motif of the victim and transformed it. The study shows how femininity is portrayed in patriarchal structures and opens up new perspectives on literary motifs in the context of social and cultural change.
