Mechanical Medical Device for Generating Vibration and Stimulation of the Neuron Pathways
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The purpose of this thesis was to design a device for the stimulation of nerve endings for patients with a disruption of the spinal cord as a result of an injury, such as paraplegics and tetraplegics. By choosing an optimal, sensitive, and safe vibrostimulation of the nerve endings, the device was designed, which enables specialists to extract genetic material (sperm) for subsequent assisted reproduction. The device enables doctors to perform this action without having to put the patient under general anaesthesia. Charging is achieved via a safe electric source from the accumulator, which is suited for repeated charging. The combined form of the solution offers the possibility to use charging accumulators or replaceable dry cell batteries (AA). The device's concept enables it to be cleaned and maintained safely without having to be dismantled into parts. The surface modification was done in a way so that the device would handle commonly used cleaning and desinfecting products used in medicine. A simple LED diode was used to signal the state of the accumulator- green light (fully charged), yellow light (still functioning), red light (needs recharging). It is very easy to charge the device by simply placing it into the stand, which was achieved by using a wireless and inductive design approach.
