The article is reflecting on education goals and their transformations in context of changing life conditions and society functioning mechanisms. It accentuates the humanizing dimension of education and links to the Pedagogy of Culture, ideas of Sergei Hessen and seeks relevance of Hessen's thoughts in today's world. It stresses the importance of worldview forming in pedagogy and contemplates about the targets the current education should follow. In the introduction the "worldview" term is defined and its broader context outlined. Furthermore the article seeks answers to the following questions: How did Hessen think of the worldview forming? Is the current pedagogy focusing on the worldview forming and how? In conclusion we want to define particular recommendations on how to support the worldview forming in educational practice.
