The Trelleybus Intermodal Compendium presents the way trelleybus systems, as well working sustainable public transport systems, can face challenges like growing car ownership in Central Europe area cities, strong separation of transport modes, but growing mobility demands (in quantity and quality), and environmental pollution through increasing road traffic congestion. Intermodal passenger transport is a key element of sustainable mobility and allows for seamless travel of passengers, speeds up transfertimes and provides a real alternative to personal motorized mobility. And trolleybus systems can provide the backbone of an integrated and seamless intermodal passenger transport network in urban areas.
